Volunteer Opportunities

Two (2) separate volunteer-driven activities start in June. Please email WENA about
your interest in participating in either or both activities and indicate a preference for
mornings or evenings. Send your email of interest here: hello@wenamaine.org
You will receive a follow up email from the event volunteer coordinator(s) to discuss
details.

1) WENA Vision Zero Traffic Calming.
Like last year’s project, only at more locations, we will be collecting traffic data,
painting street crossings, and installing traffic calming bollards. Danforth St. at
Fletcher St., Emery St., May St., and Park St., as well as the intersection of
Clark/Cushman in front of Reiche Elementary School. If you are interested, there
will different types of activities: some in the morning, some in the afternoon. We
can find you something to do. This will take place starting June 2 nd through the
9 th , for the most part. There may be some flourishing painting later.
2) WENA Graffiti Reporting
We will be reporting all graffiti in the West End again this year. Last year, the City
did an excellent job cleaning up all that we reported. We will be collecting it using
small teams and reporting it on SeeClickFix. At least one member of each team
must have access to SeeClickFix. This activity will cover all the West End, broken
into four sections – one weekend per month, between June and September. If
you are interested in being on a reporting team let us know, and if possible, the
month or months interested.
Last year, we had a good turn-out for both activities and had a lot of fun doing them. We
expect these activities to help make the West End a safer and cleaner place to live, and
we will have fun doing them.
