Dear Neighbor,
We are writing to invite you to consider joining the board of the West End Neighborhood Association (WENA). Elections occur at the WENA annual meeting in November. This year, the meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 12th at 6:30 in the Reiche Community Center on Clark Street.
Board members serve for three-year terms. They are ambassadors for the neighborhood and help guide our work to strengthen community connections, support local initiatives, and address common concerns. The commitment is very manageable: five general meetings and five board meetings a year (most via Zoom), and participation in at least one WENA project or initiative—such as communications, community outreach, neighborhood events, parks and gardens, or support for seniors and families. More specific detail about WENA board member responsibilities is attached.
WENA board service is a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working alongside neighbors who care about the West End. If you’re open to learning more, we’d be happy to answer questions or talk further about what’s involved.
Thank you for considering this opportunity. If you are interested (or have questions), please reply to hello@wenamaine.org by Friday, October 31st.
Warm regards,
Rosanne Graef, Vice President
Mark Tappan, Secretary
Bryan Van Dussen, Treasurer
WENA Nominating Committee
