Aging in Place Meetings – Two Identical Meetings

posted in: Neighborhood | 0

Dear Fellow West Ender:

You are invited to attend one of two identical meetings to be held on Monday, June 6, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 7, from 9:00-10:30 a.m. These will take place in the Community Room upstairs at the Reiche Community Center at 166 Brackett Street.

The purpose of the meetings is to discuss the West End Community Action Network Aging in Place (WECANAIP) initiative. Some of you may already be familiar with this project, although for many this could be your first time hearing of it.

A few months ago a group of your neighbors started working together on ideas that we hope will help us all age in place in our homes, for as long as possible. We have conducted quite a bit of research about various programs we might be able to start in the West End, and gathered information about resources and services that are currently available.  We have developed a survey we hope will help gauge community members’ level of interest in this concept of aging inplace, identify the challenges people are facing, and determine what services might be useful. At the meetings we plan to share more detail about what’s been accomplished thus far, as well as solicit your input.

To ensure enough printed materials for everyone, RSVP to wecanaip@gmail.com by Thursday, June 2, telling us which meeting you plan to attend. If you are unable to attend either meeting, please let us know if you are interested in continuing to hear about this initiative.

Sincerely,

WECANAIP Steering Committee:
