Another season of comfort and care for homeless families begins at State Street Winter Family Shelter on Monday, November 17th and lasts through Thursday, April 30th. The shelter could not operate without all the support you and other volunteers provide, all season long! Thank you! We will broadcast the opening date of our registration/sign up site for the upcoming season by mid-October.
On Sunday, October 19, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., we will host a an open house (159 State Street, Portland). If you have not seen the facility or simply wish to refresh your memory from last year, do drop by! Also, please pass along word to anyone you think might be interested in seeing the shelter and/or volunteering this coming season. A few of our SSWFS management team members and past volunteers will be there to show the facility, answer questions and help anyone who may have registration questions.
