Spring Neighborhood Cleanup Day

posted in: Fun, Neighborhood, Trash, Volunteer | 0

This year we’re trying a different approach to our annual spring clean-up: it’s more flexible and focused on the places we frequent every day.

When: Saturday, 21 April
Where: Throughout the West End
How:

  • Gather a few neighbors and choose a nearby street or two.
  • Pick up trash bags and gloves at the Reiche Community Center, Clark Street entrance, between 8:30 and 9:30 AM.
    • On your way, stop in at Fresh Approach, mention you’re doing the clean-up, and get coffee for 50 cents!
  • Tidy up your chosen area anytime before 1:30 PM.
  • Drop off filled bags no later than 1:30 at any one of the locations identified in the map below.

When you’ve finished, please consider going over to the Terra Matters youth rally for climate action that’s being organized by Portland middle and high school students. Music groups from King Middle School and Casco Bay High School will perform. Our own District 2 Councilor, Spencer Thibodeau, will speak.

When: Noon to 3:00 PM
Where: Deering Oaks Park
